Two New Stories: "Avarice" and "Cubicle"

"Avarice" is the story I wrote using the words for the October word challenge: stockbroker; acute; stray; emotional; billy club. "Cubicle" is the ten-minute on-the-spot story I wrote, using the prompt of a postcard showing small boats on the sea near the coast. What would you have written? The words for November are nurse; trite; habitual; sling shot; conniving; disingenuous; signature.

Word Challenges: You can participate!

As a member of the Uxbridge Writers' Circle, I participate in the monthly word challenges. I post my stories, which incorporate the selected words, on this blog after the other members have heard them.
Check out: vickyearleauthor.blogspot.ca
But you don't have to be a member to participate! You can send your suggestions for words for the October challenge by including them in your comment on this post. I will take them to the September 5 meeting for members to consider. You'll find out if your words were accepted by checking out uxbridgewriterscircle.blogspot.ca some time after the meeting (sign up to be notified of new posts by email), and by checking my blog because I usually post each story I write using the selected words.
I look forward to taking your suggestions to the next meeting!

Sequel to "What Happened to Frank?"

Are you waiting for the sequel to "What Happened to Frank?"? I'm working on it!
I have almost finished the first (rough) draft and am looking forward to the (long) editing process.
As I write, I continue to be encouraged by my "fans". It means so much to have your support - THANK YOU!
Here's one of the reviews of WHTF (on Smashwords.com) which has helped motivate me to keep writing:
Thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot and multiple subplots certainly keep you guessing along with the characters - hard to put it down even when my eyes were telling me to sleep.
Concurrently, I've been active as a member of Uxbridge Writers' Circle - click on SHORT STORIES and MICRO STORIES in the heading above - hope you enjoy them!
